Katrin Plavčak

Temporary City is an exhibition that starts from the basis: the artist. No theme or curator is involved. During the course of one week fifteen artists worked in the Atelierhof Kreuzberg and challenged, negotiated and discussed their practices in order to use these as a base to develop an exhibition. Their works were presented on an architectural structure, an ?obstacle? designed for the show. The result of this process could be seen during the exhibition Temporary City Berlin 2009.

Temporary City begreift die individuelle künstlerische Position als Basis eines Ausstellungsprojekts, das sich aus einem gemeinsamen Prozess entwickelt. Hierbei sind weder Kuratoren involviert, noch ist ein Thema vorgegeben ? stattdessen werden die fünfzehn beteiligten Künstler im Atelierhof Kreuzberg eine Woche lang ihre künstlerische Praxis im Spiel- und Reibungsfeld der von Andreas Müller entworfenen Architektur diskutieren und kritisch hinterfragen, um gemeinsam eine Ausstellung zu entwickeln. Diese Ausstellung konnte anschließend drei Wochen lang besichtigt werden.
